Getting Started with Brightcove Video Connect for Adobe Experience Manager
Which version do I need?
AEM ships in two fundamentally different runtimes, and the connector is built and versioned separately for each. Choose the line that matches your AEM environment:

Compatibility
- AEM 6.5 LTS requires the 7.4.x On-Premise build (
7.4.x-prem). It has been tested on AEM 6.5 LTS on Java 21. - Classic AEM 6.5 service packs require
7.4.3-premor later. The 7.4.0-prem and 7.4.1-prem releases do not install on classic AEM 6.5 service packs. 7.4.3-prem has been tested on classic AEM 6.5.21 and 6.5.22, including restarts. Service packs older than 6.5.21 have not been verified, and AEM 6.5.0 without a service pack is not supported by 7.4.x-prem. - The 6.0.x On-Premise line is a legacy line for classic AEM 6.5 only. It is not supported on AEM 6.5 LTS or on any AEM that runs on Java 17 or Java 21: edits to the metadata of existing videos do not sync from AEM to Brightcove, although installation and uploads appear to work.
- WCM Core Components (page v3 and container v1) must already be installed on any on-premise AEM instance for the 7.x line. The On-Premise connector does not install them. AEM as a Cloud Service provides them.

The 6.x line introduced major features still present today:
6.1.x, On-Premise 6.0.x); the 7.x line later covered both: Cloud as 7.x-cloud and On-Premise as 7.x-prem.
